The problem is not knowing what you are looking for

I find the hardest part of navigating in foreign countries is not knowing what to look for.

When I was in London I needed to find a cash machine. Asked the receptionist and got a rather detailed direction to a nearby bank. Followed the direction and landed in a crowded area of the town. Looked around and found that I have no idea which one is the bank because I had no knowledge of London bank names nor what banks look like in London.
